Woodley House Welcomes Two New Board Members

January 5, 2026: At the end of last year, Woodley House was pleased to add two new talented, accomplished and passionate members to our Board of Directors. Both Candace Crooks and Dr. Yavar Moghimi will be serving three-year terms on the Board.

Candace Crooks is a seasoned accounting and finance professional with experience in corporate accounting, financial analysis, and compliance. Over the course of her career, Candace has partnered with leadership to enhance financial controls, optimize processes, and provide strategic financial insights across organizations. Candace is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University.

Candace says: “I believe that stable housing, compassion, and mental health support are cornerstones of human dignity. Woodley House does more than provide services — it creates pathways for people to rebuild their lives with respect and hope. Being part of this mission allows me to use my skills to help strengthen a community where every person has the opportunity to recover, grow, and thrive.

Yavar Moghimi, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist with 15+ years of experience working across clinical care, managed Medicaid, and behavioral health innovation. His work focuses on improving mental health systems — especially for populations who face the most barriers to care. Yavar holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Old Dominion University and earned his M.D. at George Washington University.

Yavar says: “I’m excited to be a part of Woodley House because I’ve seen the ways that their model of embedding clinical care with housing can completely transform the lives of those living with severe mental illness in a way that other parts of our mental health system fall short. Woodley House offers a continuum of housing supports and services that allows for a stable foundation for recovery, reduces system costs, and helps maintain the humanity and dignity of each client that comes through their doors.

We’re grateful to have Candace and Yavar join our Board of Directors.
